About Sydney Oscar

Sydney Oscar is an emerging design-led studio working across furniture, interiors and custom-built environments.

Founded by Adelaide-based furniture maker and designer Luke Makris in collaboration with architect and designer Nathan Ngo - Sydney Oscar brings together architecture, craftsmanship and local manufacturing to create highly tailored outcomes for both residential and commercial projects.

Luke Makris

Luke Makris is a second generation furniture maker and designer based in Adelaide, SA. Growing up within his family's furniture manufacturing business, he has spent over 2 decades perfecting his craft.

With strong experience taking on custom jobs across both residential and commercial projects across the hospitality and retail sector, Luke has hands on experience creating pieces that balance artistic ventures with functionality and crafstmanship.

Nathan Ngo

Nathan Ngo is an Amsterdam-based Adelaide native, serving as a skilled architectural designer and project designer for UNS Studio. His work and experience spans residential, commercial and cultural projects bringing a strong architectural design perspective to Sydney Oscar.

He has a strong creative flair when designing spaces, objects and furniture which is disciplined by his rigorous design methodology - allowing his ideas to be explored conceptually whilst being grounded in technical precision.
